Supervisor Bruce Gibson endorsed local business leader Jim Dantona to take over his seat on the San Luis Obispo County Board of Supervisors.

Dantona, CEO of the San Luis Obispo Chamber of Commerce, launched his campaign for the District 2 seat after Gibson announced he would not run for reelection in 2026. Like Gibson before him, Dantona started his career in public service career on the Cayucos Advisory Council.
