Congressman Salud Carbajal Endorses Dantona for Supervisor
Community leader Jim Dantona, President and CEO of the San Luis Obispo Chamber of Commerce, today announced Congressman Salud Carbajal (D-Central Coast) has endorsed Dantona's campaign for 2nd District Supervisor for San Luis Obispo County.
“Jim Dantona reflects our values and has the vision and courage to protect our coast, fight climate change, and stand up to Big Oil and the Trump administration,” said Rep. Carbajal, whose 24th Congressional District encompasses most of SLO County.
“He’s a proven advocate for clean energy, open space, and a sustainable future for the Central Coast. Jim will always put our community and our values of fidelity to the law, due process, honor, decency and fairness ahead of special interests and I’m proud to support him,” Carbajal said.
Dantona lives in Cayucos and has served as President / CEO of the SLO Chamber of Commerce for the last seven years. His position as a small business advocate has given him keen insight into the nexus between quality of life and economic stability. Dantona thanked Congressman Carbajal for his body of work to protect the Central Coast.
“Congressman Carbajal has been a tireless champion for our coast, our communities and our way of life. I share his commitment to bold climate action and protecting our coast from the threats of Big Oil and a reckless Presidential administration,” Dantona said. “Together, we can ensure San Luis Obispo County remains a model for sustainability, environmental stewardship, and economic opportunity for generations to come.
“I’m honored to have Congressman Carbajal’s endorsement, and I look forward to working with him to uphold our Central Coast values."
Like Carbajal, five-time incumbent 2nd District Supervisor Bruce Gibson has endorsed Dantona to fill the seat. Supervisor Gibson recently announced he will step down at the end of his term next year.
San Luis Obispo County's 2nd Supervisorial District encompasses Morro Bay, Cayucos, Cambria, Los Osos, San Simeon and a portion of the City of San Luis Obispo.
